Knavesmire Public Star Parties
The York Astronomical Society hold free monthly Public Star Parties in York, located on the area of hard standing opposite Queen Victoria Street on Knavesmire Road.
Weather permitting, they start at 7pm and run until 9pm, or later. The dates of each month's event are given below, and also in our "YAS meetings and events" page accessed from the YAS main page. These public star parties stop after May each year, due to the light nights, and resume in September of each year.
Even if it's raining or cloudy we tend to turn up for at least half an hour or so, just to chat with anyone who comes along and answer any questions people may have about astronomy or telescopes in general.
For more information, contact the YAS PR officer - Mark Allott - on 07855 340756.
