19th May 2006
- The YAS meeting held this night was a very special one
with Dr Allan Chapman talking to us on the subject of
"Yorkshire Astronomers - A history". The
meeting was well supported with about 85 people in
attendance. Dr Chapman is seen here with Martin Whipp
(YAS Chairman) and Hazel Collett (YAS meetings director). You can see Dr Chapman holding one of our souvineer YAS Turkey Eclipse "postcards" which we produced after our trip to Turkey in March this year. If you would like one they are just £1, so drop us an e-mail and we'll let you know where to post the cheque, or alternately buy one at our meetings. |

John Roberts says of his new Coronado PST - "It has arrived at last. I scrounged an old theodolite tripod from work and made an extension piece to put on top with the head from my old photo tripod on top of this. It feels really solid. All I need now is some sun to try it out!" |
