Lyke Wake Walk 2009
On August 15th 2009, 4 members of the York Astronomical Society will be attempting to complete the famous Lyke Wake Walk. This is a 40 mile hike across the North Yorkshire Moors, from Osmotherley to Ravenscar, and must be completed in under 24 hours.
They are doing this to raise funds for the society so that they can continue their good work in sharing the wonders of the night sky with the general public. They are also looking to purchase some equipment that will enable disabled people to use their telescopes.
